And that's saying something, given the number of times I've made that trip in both forward and reverse.
The major problem? A section of I-65 was completely shut down in southern Indiana. But did they warn us of this with signs miles ahead? Fuck no. They posted signs informing us that southbound traffic would be narrowed to just one lane for a period of miles. This was obviously not the case. Detour through shitty-little-town Indiana. With crazy-heavy traffic. Bottom line - progress that would normally have taken me 4-5 minutes took 225. Holy jeebus.
I did get to stop in Louisville and have dinner with the young Waleses, which was nice. It was originally planned for lunch.
After I finish this celebratory end-of-road-trip-to-get-a-car beer, it's bedtime.

It was really the only reasonable way...
to bring the car back with me. That was the point of the trip - to pick up a 1994 Park Avenue for the princely sum of $1 (US).I did fly up there. I only drove back.

Here's all I can tell ya.
It was on I-65, about an hour north of the Indiana/Kentucky line (the Ohio River... big bridge... can't miss it). It seemed to be affecting both the northbound and southbound sides. It may have been extremely temporary, as a quick visit to INDOT's website will tell you they seem unaware of the whole business. As far as an alternate route, I don't have any suggestions - and I hope you won't need one, anyway.TA-DA !!!
